From Glasgow take the A82 by way of the west bank of Loch Lomond to Crianlarich. From Crianlarich the A82 goes via Tyndrum, Bridge of Orchy, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe - and over the bridge to Fort William.

After Fort William the A82 passes through Spean Bridge and alongside Loch Lochy to Invergarry.

At Invergarry turn left onto the A87 towards Skye. The journey from Invergarry to Shiel Bridge should take just under an hour.

From Inverness take the A82 to Invermoriston and turn right onto the A887. Near Cluanie Dam, this road becomes the A87 and leads directly to Shiel Bridge.

After passing Shiel Bridge Shop & BP Service Station, take a left for Glenelg and the ferry.

Follow the windy road that climbs Mam Ratagan for about nine miles (There are glorious views of the Five Sister from here) until you come to Glenelg. Arnisdale sits on the shores of Loch Hourn a further eight miles southwards. Just follow the road.
