Kate Jasper owns a gag gift business in Marin County, California. The big joke in these books, however, comes from Marin County living and not from the gag gifts. The satire is abit predictable - vegetarianism, meditation, rolfing: all the usual New Age suspects. Still, it's certainly better to laugh at tofu than to eat it. These books are good-natured, breezily written, and Kate Jasper is an amusing character.
