Her three older brothers and her mother don't really approve of her work, nor of her sometimes partner and maybe boyfriend, Bill Smith. Chin, however, is no more stopped by her family's sexism than she is by the majority culture's racism. This series has introduced a smart investigator with a distinctive narrative voice.
