The president admitted he was "cornfused" following an afternoon siesta and should have refrained from speaking with reporters.

Bush Bombs Baghdad

President Bush pinned the tail on his week-long focus of military issues by authorizing an airstrike against Iraq on Friday. The bombs struck while Bush was in Mexico meeting with fellow freshman president Vincente Fox.

The two presidents spoke with reporters at Fox's ranch in San Cristobal later in the day, revealing details of their first meeting. Among the topics covered were stopping drug traffickers and the "safe and orderly migration" of Mexicans into the U.S.

Bush, known to Mexicans as el gringo diablo, spoke briefly in Spanish at the beginning of his statement before switching to the more troublesome English language. At one point he said "I can't think of anything more logical, more common sensical then to understand a - our hemisphere."

After laugher subsided and translators wiped nervous brows, questions inevitably turned to the Iraq situation. President Bush said that the actions were justified and meant to send a stern warning to Saddam Hussein that a Bush was back in the White House.

The mission, consisting of 24 U.S. and British planes, was seen by many as a possible opening salvo for a new desert war. As first exposed in an MKG article (see Desert Storm), the objective of the airstrike was to disable Saddam Hussein's supply of Playstation 2 game consoles.

Sources in the Pentagon confirmed that they had intercepted transmissions of Saddam Hussein and family trash-talking one another while playing Madden NFL 2001 for the PS2. They informed Bush on Thursday and he immediately authorized the strike.

"I gotta play a crappy old Playstation while that son-of-a-bastard plays a PS2 and watches DVDs? I don't think so," Bush said lividly. "If I can't play Thunderstrike III, than neither can he."

Before ending the press event to take his second nap of the day, President Bush made closing statements directed to his Mexican counterpart. "I like Mexico," he stressed while stifling a yawn. "It makes me feel sleepy. And you have siestas, just as we have Taco Bells. I'm sure you are very proud of our friendship."
