CHAPTER NINETEEN
Happy New Year 2001 :
It's odd how the year started without a fuss. All the Christmas decorations have come down .... well almost all of them. There is always some that don't get put away. Don't get me wrong ... it's not like I forgot to take down the lights on the front of the house.(I never put any of them up) ... It's more the little ornaments that seem to hide. The one or two that cling to the tree ... the ones that roll under the cedar chest ... the ones that find their way back to my son's room ... The ones that are still there from last year ... but for the most part the tree is gone. The cards are gone ... the lights are gone ... the angels the other figurines .. all gone. Packed up 'til next year ... except for a few stragglers.
So now it's time to evaluate the new year and return the unwanted presents ... fighting the mall crowds all the way ... and in doing so I say .'Happy New Year to all .'
Today the world I live in is different ...
I'm not afraid ... Are you ? Some people are.
