Saturday Act I

I knew I would be awake early, I was still operating on British Summer Time, so I was glad to offer help with setting up the convention room at 8am.  My eagerness showed, I was first there!  I helped with setting out the tables, putting a copy of the Program at everyone's place setting and helping put goodies in goodie bags.  Molly got me to help with the Dawn mugs, perfume and bubble bath and helping to arrange her Hawaii themed table

Before long people started to show up and Elaine got to work handing everyone an ID badge, they were so pretty, complete with a dangly jewel.

Meanwhile Andrea and Alex were setting up the Grand Prize Draw table.

After much excited chatter Melanie asked each of us in turn to go up to the front to collect our convention gift box and to say hello to everyone.  The gift box was exceptional, it contained the official convention mini made by Melanie with fabric donated by Babs, a tiara and ankh necklace from Robin's Topper Jewelers,  Babs also made the banners and Melanie handcrafted the shopping bags and the papyrus posters.

We also had door prizes at this time, I won a funky scrapbook and a disposable camera donated by Peggy, thanks Peggy!  I think it was around this time that I was asked to give a talk about Pippa.  Well, I rambled on for a little while and showed off some of my dolls who were packed into lunch boxes for their journey to Vegas.  Thank you everyone for taking interest in my collection!

OK, I know a bit about Pippa, but what's my knowledge of Dawn like?  LOL, time to find out in Andrea's Dawn Dare quiz!  And, err, well, I'm useless!  I didn't get many correct, I need to swat up for next time.  Carla, on the other hand, is Font Of All Dawn Knowledge, she only got one wrong, well done Carla.  I told her she is a 'Dawn Anorak' but I don't think that is a phrase used in the US, so I had to explain.........

Lunch was beckoning but there was just time for some trading.  I headed for the luxurious Dawn Salesroom of Dawn and Teresa, well the room they had at the St Tropez! Here are some of the lovely things I bought.  Next stop is the Hard Rock Cafe for food.  There were lots of us dinning but the staff seemed to cope very well and even did a turn on the tables - singing YMCA, one of my favorites as I am YMCA trained, LOL.
