Marian Roman Blades(October 2002)
I first got the idea of making up a Marian army out of HaT's 8017 Princeps (and Triari) when I saw them about the time they were first released. "Alrighty" I did think to myself "Julius and the boys are finally in plastic!!". Mail coats, Monte-thingie helmets and big oval sheilds. Just the job. 'Course, that was a while ago, and I was still no closer to actually doing anything more than thinking about it, when Andy Gorman did offer to paint them for me. And this is his work. Cool! (To say the least - I love how he's done the blacklining). All I did was finish them with a coat of Cabots stain. Thanks Andy! Now I just have to get the cavalry done... ...hey Andy, you know those unpainted Roman cav elements I've got lying around...
