  1. Some Escaflowne fans i've met say, "Why on Gaea do you love Dryden?" And i say, isn't it obvious?! He's kindhearted, intelligent, amusing, romantic, tall, handsome in an offbeat kinda way...all qualities i love in a guy! Speaking of which, Dryden also stars in my list of Pretty Fly Kawaii Guys.

  2. 4 October 2001 — i joined Anime Dream, a mailing list where members pair up with the anime person of their dreams. i chose Dryden, of course. As if there was ever any doubt!

  6. Know ye all that after taking the Escaflowne Compatibility Test, i found out that Dryden and i are eminently compatible - he beat out all the other guys by a comfortable margin! And, according to the Ultimate Escaflowne Compatibility Test, Dryden is my best match because i can get along great with smart-assed sexy bohemians. And okay, so the picture is the movie Dryden instead of the series Dryden that i fell in love with. He's still waaay sexy!

  7. WHAT FIANCÉE??? You'd think, wouldn't you, that a shrine to Dryden would prolly discuss his betrothal and subsequent marriage to a certain Asturian princess...Well, not this one. It's not that i hate her—i don't particularly like the girl, but i don't actively detest her either. i just wanted to keep the focus exclusively on Dryden. i even went so far as to cut her out of my favorite picture—so it'd be easier to pretend Dryden's clasping *my* hand ^o^
        So, having said all that, i want to say also that i would be okay with her & Dryden eventually getting back together and living happily ever after, however implausible that may seem. i'm basically a nice person, so i wish her the joy of being with this terrific guy—provided, of course, that she wises up and realizes how incredibly lucky she got in the arranged marriage mart!   ^.^

If you are viewing this shrine exactly as i intended it to look, then you may have noticed that its font is Book Antiqua, which is just my way of paying tribute to my Dryden's intellect and erudition. More of my raving fontmania: the font on the banner above is a personal favorite called Blackadder--presumably a reference to the British tv series starring Rowan Atkinson. Dryden thinks this show is a hoot, and hogs the popcorn when we're watching it. ^.^

Random daydream about Dryden now: my dream date with him would be for us to go to Venice together and kiss on the Bridge of Sighs, because i once saw an anime which had the charming notion that if a couple does this, they'll have eternal love. And why Venice? Well, Dryden kind of looks like those Venetian doges from days of yore, especially when he was in his wedding clothes...Plus, Palas *is* the Gaean version of Venice.
