Melody, Mary Kay and I met up with Sunny, Jodi and Julie before the show at The Yardhouse restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum before the show. At the show our seats were great and we all had a wonderful time. Jodi kept track of the play list so I’ve copied it here.

After he sang “She Is”, his song for Gina, Kristen cried out “OUCH!” He gave her a great smile.

6:30pm Show - Hal sang for an hour and fifteen minutes (7:30-8:45pm).

We did miss connecting with Howard and wife Janice from Tacoma, Washington. I had purchased their tickets & sent them to them, but it was so long ago – way before September 11th and I forgot which table they were supposed to be at! Lucky for Sunny. She had gotten a ticket a little further back from the rest of us. But since I saw two empty seats, right under Hal’s nose, I figured those were Howard’s and they weren’t coming, so, I talked Sunny into moving up there for the 2nd show.

Some Hal friends that I met in 1996 at a Boulder Station show were also there for the second show, Jane, Nancy and Jill. I also ran into Lindy and his girlfriend Maggie. Lindy is in a band called the Doo Wah Riders , that play at our local clubs and all around the states. My husband Terry and I follow them around to different clubs. They backed Hal up at the ACM golf tournament this year. Mary Kay and Melody went out the door soon after the show was over, I was talking to Lindy and Bill Cooley…I guess they got tired of waiting for me out front….THEY SENT SECURITY in to get me!

Melody left for Colorado on Wednesday and Mary Kay stayed until Friday. We should call this the “Hal and Food Tour Jan 2002” – Mary Kay had a short list of things she wanted to see while she was here and a long list of places she wanted to eat. We did a pretty good job on both.
Diet time again….

Hope you all get a chance to see Hal this year.
