This was a different setting than usual for me.  It was held in a small auditorium within the Art Gallery. Hal had two of his paintings on exhibit in the gallery - "Skinny" and "Red Moon".

It was general admission so I got there early and sat right straight in front of Hal.  He played along with Kenny Grimes -  an old friend of his.  The sound in the auditorium was fantastic - his voice was the best ever - especially when he did "Too Many Memories".  You could hear a pin drop since there was no eating or drinking in the auditorium at all.  An usher actually came and took away my water bottle during the show.

Hal looked really well.  He told stories and jokes - yes, once again the dog jokes. You know he really gets a kick out of those dog jokes.  He actually went into a little laughing fit before telling the story.  He had everyone laughing. It was great!  He seems to be loosing a little weight - not too much that we have to worry!  I got to hear a new song that I haven't heard before which was Travelin' Teardrop Blues. It was wonderful.  Before he did his encore he had a Q & A session with the audience.

He stayed at the same hotel so I got a chance to chat with him before and after which is always an extra special treat. He definitely seems to be doing fine!!!

Thanks Hal for a great time!
