Grissom and Sara investigate when the wife of a millionaire is kidnapped and buried alive in the desert; Catherine and Warrick probe a hit-and-run accident that left a 6-year-old girl dead.

Grissom investigates the murder of a woman who was found in a lake with one leg missing; Nick and Sara probe the apparent suicide of a college student who failed to get into a fraternity. 
Best Nick/Warrick moment: When Nick said that to pledge fraternity he had to walk around with a dead trout in his pocket.

05. Friends & Lovers 2000-11-03 calendar 
An apparently terrorized teen is found dead in the desert; the body of a woman who was buried the week before is found in a garbage dumpster; a college dean is slain by a young woman who claims it was self-defense.

06. Who Are You? 2000-11-10 calendar 
A murdered woman's skeleton is discovered in a cement slab underneath a house, and Grissom must figure out who she was and what happened to her. Also, Catherine's ex-husband is charged with raping a stripper; and a police officer is suspected of lying to investigators about his role in what was at first thought to be a suicide.

Best Nick/Warrick moment: When Grissom & Catherine are  arguing and Warrick pipes up from behind the lockers and says what Catherine means is that Eddie likes it rough

07. Blood Drops 2000-11-17 calendar 
An 18-year-old girl bolts from her suburban Las Vegas house screaming for help. Shortly thereafter, Grissom arrives at the home and discovers an especially gruesome scene: four family members — the father, mother and two teenage boys — are dead, butchered with a kitchen knife. The family's two daughters, the teen who ran for help and her 4-year-old sister, are traumatized but otherwise unhurt. The ghastly crime enrages Grissom, who refuses to rest until the killer is caught.

08. Anonymous 2000-11-24 calendar 
Grissom fears a serial killer is loose when an apparent suicide victim is found in a bathtub with a tape recorder, just like a previous murder that was staged to look like a suicide; Nick and Warrick investigate a car crash that may not have been accidental.
Best Nick/Warrick moment: The whole bet among them. It was so funny.

09. Unfriendly Skies 2000-12-08 calendar 
A man who was disruptive to passengers aboard a commercial flight to Las Vegas dies on the plane — and Grissom discovers evidence that the troubled man may have been murdered.

10. Sex, Lies and Larvae 2000-12-22 calendar 
Grissom investigates the shooting death of a young woman whose bloodied and bug-infested body is found on a nearby mountain; Catherine probes an art theft; and Nick tries to find a missing woman who is feared dead after blood is found in her abandoned car.

Best Nick/Warrick moment: When Nick comes into the evidence room and teases Warrick & Catherine about their case. And Warrick tells him at least we solved our case 


11. I-15 Murders 2001-01-12 calendar 
Grissom investigates the murder of a woman left for dead in a supermarket restroom with a written message from the attacker claiming that he killed five women in all; Warrick explains why he was in a casino while on duty.

A man facing the death penalty for killing his wife and son in a house fire asks Grissom to help prove his innocence; a 16-year-old who places bets for gamblers is murdered.

15. Table Stakes 2001-02-22 calendar 
An elite fund-raising party at a legendary showgirl's elegant Las Vegas mansion turns deadly in a twist-filled episode. Grissom and Catherine investigate when the body of a leggy brunette is discovered floating in the mansion's pool. Their suspicions soon focus on the brash couple, Patrick and Amanda Haynes, who hosted the party and are house-sitting for the absent owner. They claim the former entertainer, now a wealthy older woman, is vacationing in Europe and can't be reached, but Grissom and Catherine aren't so sure. Also, Warrick combs for clues when a man is gunned down, possibly by a hit man, in a hotel elevator.

Sara gets a little too personally involved when she investigates the rape and shooting of a young woman who was left for dead, but who still fights for her life in a nearby hospital; Catherine and Warrick try to determine whether a fatal shooting involving two neighbors was committed in self-defense.

Grissom and his crew investigate when a young woman is strangled in her home, apparently the third victim of a serial killer. The crime scenes all have a common, mystifying element: this murderer really cleans them up, removing all traces of hair or fibers, and even plants misleading evidence. Just when things couldn't get any worse, Grissom learns that the sheriff has called in the FBI to take over the investigation. It's a move that riles Grissom, especially when he hears that the Feds plan to use Sara as a decoy.
