Chapter 19: JAKON infidelity or Hell’s Anjel
DragonGirl punched the button, waiting for the question.
"Where to, ma’am?" JAKON asked. DragonGirl smirked.
"How about Corel, where Winter is?" She said.
"Very good, ma’am." JAKON said with more than a hint of laughter in her voice. SilverWolf grumped. Nikkia laughed. Jasper dozed. In no time, they were there, though when they exited the car, they didn’t see them anywhere near.
"JAKON, where are they?" DragonGirl said. JAKON’s image shrugged.
"This is where I am getting their signatures." DragonGirl frowned.
"How far can you go from the car?" she asked JAKON. JAKON smiled.
"As far as my sensors reach. Quite far." She finished proudly. DragonGirl smiled.
"Good. But how will we find them?" She asked. SilverWolf smiled.
"Let’s split up." She suggested, "You go with Nikkia, and I’ll go with, JAKON." SilverWolf jumped in the front seat. She drove off before anyone could protest, "That was brilliant." She said to herself. JAKON appeared in the passenger seat.
"I’m here, we’re looking for passages into the ground, they must be down there." SilverWolf halted the car.
"Why don’t we let them take care of that, hm?" she asked JAKON. JAKON gave her a look, then smiled.
"What did you have in mind?" she said in a sexy voice. A light lit on the dash, but SilverWolf paid it no mind. She leaned forward at JAKON.
"Nothing much, just a little-" she said, halting as she heard something. It was a faint, plaintive call.
"We can’t find it, come back!" SilverWolf sighed, and drove the car back. The rest were looking dejected.
"We’ll never find it this way!" DragonGirl said.
"But how can we?" Nikkia said.
DragonGirl snapped her fingers, "Jasper, will you help us?" she asked. He jumped out of the car, where he had been sleeping.
"Well, with proper payment.." he said. DragonGirl sighed.
"Tuna it is, then." She said. JAKON giggled. Jasper sniffed. He sniffed high and low and suddenly stopped.
"Here." He said, pointing with a paw. To an empty patch of ground.
"There’s nothing there!" Nikkia shouted. JAKON leaned down to inspect it. She smiled.
"There is a handle there." JAKON said, "I can’t pull it, as I am not physical." She said. Nikkia leaned down to pull it up. She opened it to reveal a stairway.
"Let’s go!" SilverWolf shouted. The odd procession started down the stairs.
"Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku!" SilverWolf sang. DragonGirl gave her a look.
"That the walking UP the stairs song." She said. SilverWolf shrugged. Then they emerged in a dark room with one bright spotlight focused on Anjel. Her eyes were closed, and she looked remarkably un-Anshish.
"You are nothing like Anshi, you are you." Winter’s voice said. Anjel’s posture firmed more. Her dot and bun had remarkably disappeared, "When I snap my fingers, you will awaken, taking all this with you." There was a snap, "Dammit, that hurt!" Winter’s voice said, "I didn’t say to slap me!" The shrill laugh of Witch-Child was heard in the gloom. But, it had worked, Anjel was gone. Winter walked into the spotlight.
"Where’d she go?" She said. Suddenly, Anjel walked into the light.
"OH, DEAR LORD!" DragonGirl shouted. She was holding herself high, and somehow her medium-short hair had blanched and turned a little purple. She had reacquired her dot, and now had a green ball thingy in her hair. SilverWolf smiled, a little tiny bit, but then her eyes widened in fear.
"The exact opposite of Anthy…. Weird." She said. Anjel growled. She leapt upon Winter and began trying to claw her eyes out. Winter screamed and ran. JAKON’s image pursed her lips grimly.
"I thought this would happen." She said, "Follow me!" she shouted. SilverWolf smiled.
"Gladly!" she shouted. JAKON smiled, and flew up the passage. The rest followed her, closely pursued by Aki-ANJEL! Oooh, that’s irritating. In any case, they tried to keep ahead of her, but soon a little curse called athsma caught up with DragonGirl. She tripped and fell, right in the path of Ak-ooh! Anjel. Anjel.
"Just leave me!" she shouted. The rest hesitated, then ran. DragonGirl looked pissed, "It was just a figure of speech!" she shouted after them, but they were too far to stop. A-n-j-e-l jumped at DragonGirl, teeth bared, and a little blessing called KARATE kicked in to help DragonGirl. DragonGirl kicked Anjel back in the barrel. She fell back, holding her ribs. Her eyes glowed red. DragonGirl jumped up, getting down in a stance. Anjel circled aggressively, but whenever she tried to claw at DragonGirl, she was beset by a block and a painful kick. DragonGirl was trying to knock Anjel back into the passage so she could run up and get back with the others, but Anjel was too flexible. DragonGirl was running out of time, for Anjel was getting more angry, her nails had grown inches and her teeth had sharpened to points. Suddenly, a light appeared above DragonGirl’s head. It was JAKON.
"Watch out!" JAKON shouted. She shot in front of DragonGirl. DragonGirl winced as she saw Anjel heading straight for her. She flashed when she hit JAKON, and fell. DragonGirl looked questioningly at JAKON.
"Stun field, it won’t last long, follow me!" she said. DragonGirl ran after her flickering vision, finally emerging in the daylight. The rest were there, decked out in their hard suits.
"Take those off!" DragonGirl said with the authority of a drill sergeant, "We don’t want to hurt her!" They meekly did as told, and then stood at ready. At length, Anjel came leaping out of the tunnel, and heading straight for the recently de-suited group. DragonGirl stood straight.
"Now, JAKON!" She shouted. A beam of blue-green light shot from one of the rear view mirrors of the car. Anjel froze in midair. JAKON appeared next to her.
"Accessing personality profiles.." she said. "Uploading profile Anjel, Tru." Anjel’s eyes closed, and her entire body relaxed, "Complete, reviving subject." JAKON said. Anjel’s eyes opened.
"WHAT THE HELL?" she asked. She was lowered slowly to the ground. She stood there for a moment, not knowing what to say, "Was I?" she asked. The rest nodded simultaneously, as was their way, "And Then I?" she asked. Another volley of nods, "Damn!" she swore. Winter grimaced.
"It’s all my fault." She said. Anjel looked unsure.
"Not really, I guess, it’s not." She said uncomfortably, "I let myself be controlled by that jerk Saionji." The rest nodded, which set her off again, "I didn’t really a whole lot, did I?" the rest nodded. She stalked off silently, probably to pursue some other anime guy. Or beat the crap out of Skirt-boy. SilverWolf smiled reflectively,
"Ah, skirt-boy, what have you gotten into now?" They all piled into the car. Winter sat in the back with Shelly, smiling. JAKON smiled evilly.
"Miss Winter, Winter-sama, would you like to see our adventures while you were busy?" SilverWolf sat up, shaking her head. And yet, there was nothing she could do. The whole scene was played back, including the newest car scene, and such. Winter looked over at SilverWolf.
"Did you do this?" she asked. SilverWolf nodded like a child with their hand caught in the, ahem, cookie jar. Winter nodded resolutely.
"Well, then I guess I’ll have to never leave, so as to keep you out of this trouble, ne?" SilverWolf nodded, "OK, then!" The Sylia-car drove off, JAKON laughing evilly, and The camera panned to show DudeZero seated at a desk, writing something. What is he up to now?
