XCI Through C

He talks without thought.
Words form meaningless phrases
when they pour from him.

This shady bastard
sits, constantly looking ‘round
for what he can steal.

Haiku Prayer
Dear Lord in Heaven
I ask for your forgiveness
for my transgressions.

Brother’s angry voice
screams over the long distance
through a tiny line.

I see darkness fall
across the light of a life.
Death creeping softly.

If the world were black
night would never fall to day
and years never change.

If the world were white
day would never fall to night
nor dark conquer light.

But the world is mixed
and seasons swiftly revolve
spinning light with dark.

Soft breeze through linen
caresses our nakedness
we lie, silent, still.

Winds blow West to East.
Time will stand still once again
when the sand runs out.
