DRIVER RANKINGS |
A highly scientific ranking of the world's best racing drivers. |

20. Michael Andretti - He's outlasted Al Unser Jr. to become the heir of the 1980's Indycar scene. Aside from that, he's good for a few wins in 2002 |

21. Sam Hornish - The best driver the Indy Racing League has produced since Tony Stewart. The IRL has finally gotten a firm upper hand over its rival series, and having a legitimate star that didn't defect from another series certainly helps. |

22. Kevin Harvick - While NASCAR fans go nuts for the inconsistent Earnhardt Jr., they are missing the real gem in the Earnhardt/Childress crowd. A 2001 Busch series championship and a top ten Winston Cup finish in his rookie season indicate a strong future. |

24. Mika Salo - He'll race with Toyota's new Formula 1 team in 2002. No indication yet as to how strong the Toyota effort will be, but Mika could surprise some people and snag a podium finish. |

23. Bobby Labonte - Coming off a championship season in 2000, Bobby's got to be dissapointed with only winning one race in 2001. (Five days after I wrote this Labonte won a second race. Nice job, Bobby, but it's not enough to make me increase your ranking). |

25. Jos Verstappen - In 2001 he often ran with a low fuel load, and ended up passing more cars than anyone else in Formula 1. All that passing earned him one point, and his prospects of someday having good equipment don't seem good. But, hey, at least he made this list. |
