Links To Other
Web Resources
Whether you are a
new to raising animals, or an old-time expert, constant research
must remain an ongoing effort. I offer these links to give you a
place to start. No one source, including my
own site, should remain the only source of information that you
use. The more information you can gather, the more likely you
will be able to more fully meet the needs of your
bird.

| NOAH's Ark Wildlife Coalition: Guide To Care And
Feeding Of Native Birds |
Lots of information concerning
the care needed by orphaned birds. |
| For the birds |
Run by Joan and Neil, two
licensed rehabilitators. As well as having information to help
you deal with an orphaned bird, they also mention their own
rehab. experiences, statistics on their success, and dispel a few
myths about bird needs and behavior. |
| The Wildlife Rehabilitation Information
Directory |
Tips on helping injured or
orphaned wildlife, from birds to mammals. Lots of
information. |
| Charlie's Bird
House |
Tips on caring for an orphaned
bird. Run by a "Bird Lady" named Helen. |
| Help! I've found an orphan crow, and I don't know
what to do! |

those who are trying to raise crows and ravens. The information
is practical for any member of the blackbird family,
including jays, red-wing blackbirds, grackles,
etc. |
| Birdwatching Dot Com |

watching! Stories, FAQs, tips, and products for the birdwatcher.
Not much advice concerning chicks, but there's lots of other
interesting stuff. |
| Bird Of The Week |
A very good site which gives
detailed information about the natural conditions of most, if not
all, of North America's native birds. Despite the title, other
species than that offered as the "Bird Of The Week" are easily
found on the site. |
| Mill Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation
Center |
A new site still in
development. Has some interesting information on rehabilitating
birds and mammals. |

This website is not intended
to replace the expert care that is only available by professional
rehabilitators. The use of this website is only intended for
those where the option of bringing an orphaned bird to a
rehabilitator is not possible. By raising a wild bird yourself,
you greatly diminish it's chances for survival. Please check this
link for a rehabilitation center in your
community: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm. If none
are listed near
you, call a local animal shelter, veterinarian, or wildlife
office/agent for information on local rescue centers. Thank
you.
