Where are we?
To give you a better idea of where we live, we have included the following maps.

We live just a short distance from what was before the 1960 lava flow Kapoho, HI. This area is now served by the US Post Office of the nearest town, Pahoa, which is about 12 miles from here. We have a rural route box (RR 3363) about one mile from the house and I usually ride my bike there about 1-2x per week to pick up the mail.

In our favorite island guidebook "Hawaii- The Big Island Revealed" describes Pahoa as "the Big Island's outlaw town, where guerrilla gardeners (marijuana growers) dreadlocks enthusiasts, FBI fugitives, and the never-bathe crowd peacefully coexist." It has a few restaurants, small retail stores, a service station, and a post office.
