Ron , as his
colleages fondly call him , is a graduating scholar student
of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music , majoring
in Voice. He is under the tutelage of Prof. Irma Ponce Enrile
Potenciano
He
has been cast in several operas such as " ABA STO.
NINO" by Fr. Manuel Maramba , " LA NAVAL"
where he played the role of Sangley and " LA
TRAVIATA" which was staged at Metropolitan Theatre. Ron
also has television appearances to his credit in
programs like Concert at the Park , Paco Park Presents
and A Little Night of Music.
He
was a member of the UST Coro Tomasino from 1995 to 1996. From there
, he was picked to be a member of the VOCAL ENSEMBLE PHILIPPINES
, a prestigious group of young classical singers. On July
1999 , he was selected from among hundreds of aspirants all
over Asia to be a pioneer member of the Asian Youth
Choir and was sent to Niigata, Japan for their
debut performances. And recently , he was again selected
to be part of the male chorus in the " Student Prince
" production of the Singapore Lyric Opera under
the baton of Lim Yau. It was staged at the Kallang Theatre in
Singapore and ran from May 4 to 9 , 2000
Ron
has had a number of singing groups under his skillful baton . Such
are the DENR Chorale , the MUSIC MATRIX of BPI , the School
of the Holy Spirit Glee Club ( of which he led to a
runner-up victory in a competition), the LITURGIKON of
the University of Sto. Tomas and ARS MUSICA.
He has been the Musical Director of the Disciples Choir since
1991
