Mr. Moreno joined the faculty of Davis Senior High School in 2000. Angelo Moreno is a former graduate of music and recipient of a Master's Degree in conducting at UC Davis under the tutelage of Dr. Kern Holoman. He has been playing violin for 20 years studying with teachers such as Lora Levin, Robert Slaughter, Elizabeth Fields, and Michael Sand. He is a former member of the Napa Valley Philharmonic under the baton of Dr. Roberto Gonzalez, in which he served as Concert Master for two years, and soloist. He has served as Principal Second Violin of the UC Davis Symphony, which he has been a member of for six years. Angelo has participated for six years as an active soloist and orchestra member of the UC Davis Baroque Ensemble under the directorship of Phebe Craig and Michael Sand. In addition to his performance life, Angelo is a violin instructor of ten years, where he teaches in both Napa and Davis. To contrast his classical endeavors, Angelo enjoys improvisation on the electric violin in the Latin Jazz group Akanthos, of which he has been a member for three years. When not musically preoccupied, he values spending his off hours with his wife Scherezada and two daughters Giavanna and Dchenin, whom he lives with in Davis. Angelo looks forward to continuing an occupation in music education as well as performing musician.
