What other kinds of books are you interested in besides Harlequin?
I love anything unconventional. Paranormal romances are lots of fun--my absolute favorite paranormal stuff is Christine Feehan's Dark series. (You can find out more about that at Christine Feehan's official site. She writes novels about Carpathians, a race of vampire hunters. If you like Jayne Anne Krentz, she does the paranormal thing, too, under the pseudonym Jayne Castle. If you want a diversity of paranormal in an anthology, I would suggest Charmed, which inclues ghosts, psychic ghost hunters, a djinn (or genie), and time travel through a mirror. (Plus, it has Lori Foster, one of my favorite authors!) I would also suggest After Twilight, with vampires, Carpathians (yes, it's Christine Feehan), and a werewolf. And finally, my other favorite is time travel. If you're into that, I suggest Nora Roberts's Time and Again. It's one of my favorite books, period.
I've heard that Harlequins are just "trashy romances." Are they?
NO! So many people are ready to label them without having read them. Yes, I will say that there is some sex in the stories. However, the sex is there to underscore the love of the couple in the form of a physical relationship. It doesn't make the books "trashy."
