DVDs and the Voodoo 3000
series.
On the package of
the 3000 series it states that Yes, the Voodoo sort of does support DVD,
but not the way a decoder card does. It helps with some motion compensation
and by virtue of being fast in general and can do a halfway decent job.
If you're scared now, calm down! You CAN play DVDs without a decoder
card.
Before I go into more detail I must assume
the following:
-
You agree to the Terms of
Use for this site.
-
You are using a 3500 (I have no experience with
the 3000 but some things are the same).
-
Your card works generally well (no General Protection
Faults, freezing images etc.) If not try Seniorbro's site
for help.
-
You have the right cables for your set up. (see
the section DVDs on a TV if you don't
want use a decoder card)
Once you've done all the above you can go to
the section that fits your situation:
What you need if
you want to watch DVDs on the PC.
What you need
to watch DVDs on a TV if you don't want use
a decoder card.
What you need
if you want to watch DVDs with a decoder card.
What you need if
you want to make a copy of a DVD to a video tape.
(This is not illegal for private use in Germany, see the law here).
Who is
this guy anyway? (long, boring and uselss information here)
Didn't find you you wanted?
