"Sports Can Give False Hope to a Young Mind"

Sports are built from the ground up.  But television and over society has put the spotlight on the last stage of the process.  This view of the sports field can give false hope. There is much training in the field of sports.  The body, mind, and spirit of a person are trained to be one.

Most sport players start in the homes of America.  On one hand most people fail to build the whole person.  This could cause the foundation of the players the game to be weak.  This gives more room for failure on your way up in the field of sports.

Chris had great hope to make it in the sport world.  He always had a desire to be a great baseball player.  His life time dream was to play for the Atlanta Braves.  It was his dream from his childhood.

Chris was a great player at Wilcox County High.  He was an all round player. But his academic grades were on the borderline, Chris was just passing.

When he came face to face with English IV, it was as if he was standing in the batter box, the bottom of the 9th two strikes and English IV released it last grade.  Chris swung at the grade but he struck out.  Chris didn't pass the subject.  He had to attend summer school to get his diploma.  He didn't get to march with his class.

Chris built his world mainly on his ability to play the game.  He failed to build a strong foundation.  He had a half-built dream.

Chris shared his thoughts with his friend Michael "Michael," he said, "you know I have put my greatest effort in my athletic abilities.  More than I did my academic ability."  Michael replied to his friend

"Man you are a superstar in the making."

"Yea, a superstar who was struck out by English IV, Man I hate that."

Chris' view of television and society in the sport world had changed.  It changed from the field sense of accomplishing the job.  To the work that each stage took to get the job done.  He found out there was more to the game than the spotlight.

On the other hand some young people realize that it takes more than physical development to accomplish their goals.

Nathaniel was the Senior President.  He loved playing football, he also played baseball, basketball, ran track, and a wrestled.  He was also an all round sports player.
