Iggy Land Poems

These poems were (and are being) written for my other website www.oocities.org/iggylandpoet which is their showcase. However, all of my work is on this site, so they are reproduced here.
Warning: Some of these poems are deliberately bad, its part of the (I hope) humour of the other site, and some of them are meant to be read in sequence. Also, they are still unfinished, these are drafts here. That said, please tell me what you think of them!
PS "Iggy Land" is what people in chat refer to when they ignore someone's posts.

I will return to Iggy Land

The ceaseless paths of Iggy Land,
They call to me
Well I remember my sojourn there
In the land of demons...
But no demons were there

I saw wondrous things
On the ceaseless roads of Iggy Land
Beings unknown to
The refined Judges of Yahoo
My home.

No longer! I
Am a citizen of the ceaseless paths of Iggy Land
There we,
The broken-faced, the broken-hearted,
The child, the elderly and the normal
Do live, condemned
In Iggy Land.

I will one day return
To the ceaseless paths of Iggy Land
To wander in the silence
Truly we, the iggied, are
More fortunate than the
Self-appointed and refined denizens
Of the world above.

What is Iggy Land?

When first I ventured into Yahoo
Everywhere I heard but one name -
Iggy Land.
What could this be?
Where was this land?
Elders told me it appeared long ago
No one knew from where
And the obscene, the evil, the childish
Are condemned to live there.

They said it was a terrible place,
Full of demons
And those who could not be associated with
But the ruler of Iggy Land...
Here they fell silent
I pondered the mystery
Of the place called Iggy Land.

I resolved
Never to be accounted unworthy
Of Yahoo
And condemned to Iggy Land
And to strive that I, too
Might become Judge.

Surer in my place grew I
More boisterous
More argumentative
I won my argument but
Alas! My opponent condemned me
Judged me fit for Iggy Land.

Will I survive?
Can I live until the condemnation is lifted?
Oh, protect my from the danger
Which lurks on
The ceaseless paths of Iggy Land.

Entrance

I was thrust into darkness
Yet this was only the Prelude
I came to the gate
There the Keeper motioned my through
I wanted to run
Condemned to Iggy Land!
But there was nothing to be done
But go through.

Entering, I saw the famous part
The area where you can see
Friends but may not speak
Only a voiceless ghost...
But, behind, I saw the things
Which Rumour whispered:
The ceaseless paths of Iggy Land.

No end
No beginning
You can wander forever
Alone and silent
For Iggy Land does not permit speech
Ghosts in the machine...

Long I wandered
In silence and in dark
Seeking, hoping for a way home
But not a chink of light
Nor noise of mouse
Did I perceive.

Sir Chat

Brave Sir Chat
In Iggy Land hunted
From out his hat
He brought a sword (though blunted)

With yell and with shout
Sir Chat swang it about
To kill the birds of silence
But the birds flew to a cave whence,

A mighty dragon came
"Oh me!", "Oh my" cried Sir Chat
"Perhaps it is tame?"
But it ate him and that was that.

Me and My Band

Ravens fly
Pie in the sky
And I?
I dream of that land
Where me and my band
Would spend a night
Exploring with all our might
Singing and dancing
Laughing and romancing
Until we saw the Sun.

For we follow the Sun
Every one
We forsake the dark
For a sunlit park
All but I
Who went to Iggy Land, my
Ears hear it still, hush...
So languid with no rush
I'll leave all else by
Just so long as I
Can live in my land so true
Iggy Land, I belong to you!
