On Friendship

You will live to rue the day that ere your pretty faces glanced my way
Mock me not! Stop and think, this time will be o'er in a blink,
Was it right to hurt me so? What pleasure gainst thou from my woe?

Still your shrieks and girlish cries,
Dost thou think that thou art wise?
You Hypocrites! Declaring her to be untrue
When never were more lies uttered than by you.

Revenge will be mine, in later years my work so fine you will repent
Your hurtful ways for I shall shine forth like a star,
The blaze shall burn your deceiving eyes
And cleanse your tongues of all their lies.

We shall see what tomorrow brings
Some shall rise and be as kings,
To us poor mortals upon the Earth,
# Yet to you we shall give a wide berth

Thou shalt beg my pardon yet,
in present day, you caused my heart to harden
with insults veiled in sweetness
And now I leave you, stuck in your own mess!

And now, my piece said,
you will understand how my heart bled,
from your cruel leave-taking
yet sometimes I wonder if it was not the making of me...

Fare thee well, my friends they say true friendship never ends,
I leave you now, and with a sigh, I let my mind go wandering by
The scattered cornfields of the sun and send your influence on the run.
