We
highly recommend that when your child starts band they rent an
instrument vs. purchasing one. This gives you a chance to see if
band is going to work out for them with a minimum of cash outlay.
Even more importantly you know that the instrument your child will
be playing will work well and the company will help maintain the
instrument for you.
We work
with two music companies for our instrument rental program. Both
companies offer excellent services and instruments. Actually you
would get the same instrument from either company. Herter Music
from Bay City is our main supplier for several reasons; 1) Cost
ends up being a bit cheaper in the long run. 2) Easy access as the
sales person is a Farwell Band Parent himself and works regularly
with our high school percussion section.
Here's
the process:
- Decide
what instrument your child MAY be interested in.
- Set
up an appointment to have Mr. Shimmons test your
child.
- Fill
out the Instrument Rental Contract
- Call
Herter Music with any questions and to set up delivery
dates
- Get
money to the band room for the first payment
- Salesperson
will bring the instrument to Mr. Shimmons, who will then
deliver it to your child
- OR
you may arrange to meet the salesperson at the school
yourself!
