Swimming Lesson Skills Progression

Parent/Child
Children and parents learn to enjoy the water in a fun, and safe environment through one on one interaction and instructed activities.

Level 1 - "Waterbunny"
Entry level, little or no water experience, teaches water adaptation skills.

Level 2 - "Sunfish"
Some previous water instruction, willing to put face in water, blow bubbles, float, and perform proper kicks.

Level 3 - "Beginning Seastar"
Indepedent glides with flutter kicks (prone and supine), introduction to beginner stroke and getting comfortable in deep water.

Level 4 - "Advanced Seastar"
Modified elementary backstroke and rhyrmic breathing with armstrokes independently, introduction to treading water, learning to swim the width of the pool.

Level 5 - "Ouzel"
Independent crawlstroke and elementary backstroke, treading water, build endurance swimming the length of the pool.

Level 6 - "Dolphin"
Improve crawlstroke, elementary backstroke, backstroke, safety and basic rescue skills.

Level 7 - "Whale"
Refine crawlstroke, elementary backstroke andbackstroke, introduction to sidestroke and breastroke.

Level 8 - "Octopus"
Refine and improve strokes, build endurance; move survival, safety and basic rescue skills.
