Group lessons are open to all disabled children, non-disabled children from 6 months through 6 years old, and adults.  Disabled children have priority when registering for swim lessons; if you have a disabled child, please request the class you want prior to registration to assure placement.

Registration Information
Parent/Child classes are available for children age 6 months to 3 years old accompanied by a parent guardian, or adult family member.  Group lessons begin at age 3 and continue until the child's 7th birthday.  Priority for private lessons is given to adults or disabled persons of any age.  Semi-private lessons are available for adults and children (if at least 1 child is disabled).  A medical form is required for each disabled person registered for private or semi-private lessons.
Registration dates are listed on this website.  Registration is handled on a first come, first served basis.  Registration begins at 7:30 am on the first day listed.  You may register your own children and children of a friend (parents complete paperwork) with a maximum total of 4 children only.
Requests for specific instructors should be noted on your registration card.  We will try to accommodate.  Parents are invited to watch from the deck on the first day of lessons only - please remove your shoes.  For the remainder of the session, parents are requseted to watch from the lobby viewing windows.  Parents may also get into the water for the last day of the session to participate with their child's class.
No phone registrations or pre-registrations (except disabled children) are permitted, nor will a place be "saved" for any reason.  Payment in full is required at the time of registration (checks or cash only).

Private and Semiprivate Lessons
Children ages 7 to 10 may place their names on a private lesson waiting list.  After all group lesson registration has closed, a lottery will be held to determine placement for any available time slots.  At the end of the session, all non-disabled children will return to the lottery pool for the next session.

Hazardous Weather Closures
The pool will close for hazardous weather following the 4-J School District's recommendation.  If schools close or are delayed due to weather, we will also be closed or delay opening.  If weather becomes hazardous during the day, we will colose besed on management's decision.

Aquatics Center Staff
Instructors emply a non-aggressive teaching style.  We want you and your children to experience a fun and positive aquatic environment while learning new skills.  American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors comprise the staff.  They are kept up to date on current adaptive aquatic and emergency techniques.

Credits
Credits will only be given if the class must be cancelled by the aquatic center or in such cases that a medically excused illness or injury prevents participation.  A student may withdraw from a classs with a full refund or credit towards the next session if notice is given two working days prior to the first day of class.  If you feel you have a unique situation, please discuss it with the Aquatics Manager.
