You will find that I have a LOT of pictures this is mainly due to the fact that after the many hours I spend on them I grow very attached. Sometimes of I put too much glue on I literally do become attached! So enjoy all of the pictures so far this year.

Creed and Kell July.03Ah yes the new Creed and Kell models, beautiful models! The detail of the banner is some of the best I have seen! Alot of this model was just trying out new colours and techniques, this is also my second attempt at non-metal-metallics.  More pictures can be found here.

WE Dreadnaught July.03Jack and I made this Dreadnaught, he converted and I painted it. It is basically one big bitz order consisting of over $70cn of bitz. Some highlights include the great wire work by Jack making the driver hardwired in, as well as the wore work to bend every toe on the foot. Also the hoses in the 'armpit' which is partly exposed. Also the left knee pad turned out beautifully!  More pictures can be found here.

Carnosaur July.03This is a Carnosaur I am currently doing for a commission for a guy in New Zealand. When chosing colours he requested it be similar to the scheme on my slann model. I went with the blue and skin tone for the carnosaur but ran into a problem choosing colours for the rider, I treated the rider and mount as both a single model and separate. By that I mean I chose colours that work well on that part of the model as well as the other model. The light green and dark red are complimentry and form a tertrad with the complementry blue and skin tone. I love colour theory!  More pictures can be found here.

Typhus Jun.03This is the new Typhus model from GW I have painted. I went with a lighter pastel green and completed the triad with blue-purple and a light skin tone. The base, once agian, is simple Typhus is stepping down into a murky bog. The angle that he is at really gives a sense of power in this model. This is now one of my favorite models because it is my first attempt at nmm (non-metal-metalics).  More pics can be found here.

Slann Mage Priest June.03Wow! This is one amazing model, everything is perfectly detailed and there are no useless blank surfaces. It also weighs a tonne! I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to paint this guy, my brother collects Lizardmen so this time it was my turn to paint one. I tried to focus on a triad of colours (three colour as far away from eachother as possible), using blue, red, and what would be yellow but i chose a more skintone instead which I used on the slann belly. Everything else on this model was either a neutral grey/brown or reflected these colours in some way. For the base I decided to go really simple with a temple flagstone base as I find that too often miniatures have bases fancier than themselves and it really takes away from the model.  More pics can be found here.

Warg Rider Mar.03I painted this warg rider for my local GW painting competition. Unfortunatly he didn't win, although that doesn't bother me as this was really a test model for a new style I wanted to try. I tried to achieve mainly pastel colours to give it a more realistic or even rustic feel to the model. I think I was close to achieving it but it will still take a few more trys to get it where I would like.  More pics can be found here.

40k scale Inquisitor Feb.03This was a Warhammer 40,000 scale Inquisitor I made to go along with the release of Codex: Deamonhunters. I really liked the pose of the new Chaos Warlord so I used that as my base. I then hacked, scraped, cut, and drilled all of the chaos symbols, the loin cloth, etc. With him 'clean' I did some putty work to fix his tattered cloak, bulk up his lower legs and fill in the gaps where I attached the power claw. I used a catachan head and a set of banners from the new High Elves. Once I started painting I hit a problem, for some reason or another my paint (which is about the consistancy of milk) wouldn't stick on the smooth surface of the banner. I ended up having to thinken up my paint just to get it to stick on. Unfortunatly that had taken a lot away from what could have been a superb model.  For more pictures go here.

Eldar Avatar Feb.03I had an Eldar Avatar sitting around that I had gotten for free so this was an excuse to paint it. I'm really not a fan of this model, it has potential but on its own it is very static. I also didn't like the way the claw was, so to begin with I switched sword hands. For the other hand I used a large flail I had made. I then used wire and beads to make more dynamic, flowing hair. As far as colours went I tried to focus this model on contrasts. I used complimentry colours (colours opposite on the colour wheel) in this case a bright firey red/orange, to counter this I used and icey blue/purple on his weapons. I also used a green/teal like life and countered it with a bone/white like a desert or dry bones. Also for the weapons I changed the hilt to make it look like it was ahead of the times, where as the hilt on the flail is bone to counter it.  More pics can be found here.

Skaven Assassin Jan.03This is one of GW's Skaven Assassins. It was painted by one of my best friends Jack Shee. He did a simple but very effective conversion by swapping the hands of the assassin with those of the Necron Flayed Ones. This was his first Ebay model and I think he was quite proud to join the ranks of online sellers!  More pictures can be found here.

Frodo, Sam, Gollum Jan.03I really love the Lord of the Rings models GW has come out with, shear beauty for the scale they are on. So naturally when these three came out I had to paint them. I was really happy with the final result although the pictures didn't show it. These are honestly the only pitctures I have taken where I can say they didn't do the mini justice. Gollum's skin came out completely blochy in the pictures when in actuallity it was very smooth, and because of the auto focus on my camera I was having trouble getting a picture where all there where clear.  More pictures can be found here.

Warhammer Giant Jan.03This is my Warhammer Orc and Goblin Giant. This is one of my personal favorite models, I love the cast and this was one of my breakthrough models as far as skin tones go. It took me 40 hours to paint and 21 skin tones not including inks. He was also my first sale on Ebay and THE guy who convinced me that I could paint well enough to sell models for profit.   More pictures can be found here.
