These psalms and hymns all come out of the Psalter Hymnal - the hymn book my husband, Ed, and I used every Sunday of our childhood. I dreamed of this project for twenty years or more. Whenever my husband and I took the time to sing through the hymnal, the words we found always compelled us to share them with believers everywhere.
I dedicate this album to Ed. It exists because of his love of the hymns, his support of my gifts, and his tenacity in seeing it through! I love you Ed! Together, we dedicate this album to God's glory, and to our precious children, Jen, Ben, Rachel, Aubrey and James, who share our love for Jesus. Our prayer is that these old songs will bring people together in worship of the God of the ages:
those who
sang them,
those who
rejected the ritual of them,
and those who
never knew them.
