The railroad was incorporated on December 25, 1998. The name of the railroad originates from one of the principles, Idelta Galan-Lane who observed that equipment for the railroad was often purchased using spare quarters.
The main engine, an ÖBB Diesel Loco, 2095.05, was a gift from Edward F. Lane Sr. The engine is a replica of one used by the Austrian Federal Railways.
Since incoporating, the principles have added the following rolling stock:
Passenger Cars |
StLB Passenger Car | 34640
ÖBB Passenger Car | 33620
|
On March 1, 2001, the first shares in the railroad will be offered at the offer price of $25.00 per share. The board voted unanimously to issue 100 shares of common stock for the purpose of raising enough capital to complete material and equipment acquisitions. Construction on the main line is slated to begin Spring 2001, with the rail yard following 3-4 months later.
