Team 60

Country: Sweden.
Unit: F10 Flygflottilj (No 10 Wing).
Home Base: Angelholm.
Status: Operational.
Team Size: Six Saab Sk60 trainer and light attack aircrafts.
Team Strength: Seven Saab SK60 trainer and light attack aircrafts.
Background: Formed in 1976 with the basic Saab SK60A trainer, Team 60 celebrated its 20th anniversary in 1996 and then stood down for the following airshow season. The reason lay in the complete re-organisation taking place within the Svenska Flygvapnet (Swedish Air Force) and in a conversion programme being conducted to uprate the Saab SK60 trainer and light attack aircraft jet with Williams-Rolls Royce FJ 44-1C engines. The new version is designated SK60W.
Team 60 made their debut at the Swedish Air Force's 50th Anniversary Airshow at Malmen. They rarely strayed outside Sweden until their UK debut at Boscombe Down's Air Tournament International in June 1992, after which Team 60 have made a number of appearances at Western European airshows.
Team 60 won the Sir Douglas Bader Trophy at Royal IAT 96 for the Best Overall Flying Display.

The AT-3 is Taiwan's first indigeniously designed and built military aircraft, with 60 serving as the ROCAF's training and light attack jet. All team pilots are instructors with the Academy.

Ukrainian Falcons

Country: The Ukraine.
Unit: Ukrainian Air Force Flight Test Centre.
Home Base: Kirovskye.
Status: Operational.
Team Size: Six VPK-MAPO MiG-29 'Fulcrums'.
Team Strength: Seven 'Fulcrums' :-
5 x MiG-29A Air Defence Fighters.
2 x MiG-29UB Combat Trainers.
Background: Formed in 1997, the Ukrainian Falcons flew their inaugural display at Kiev on 9 May that year. Their international debut came two months later at the Royal IAT 97, RAF Fairford. All the team's MiG-29s are flown by test pilots.
The team is the second in the UKrAF's fledgling history. In 1992 a duo of MiG-29s toured North America under the name of Tridents. When the duo ran out of money to support the tour, the pilots returned home leaving their MiGs behind.
The recent death of the team's leader (Col Sergei Dudkin) during an unrelated flying accident, casts a question mark over the Falcons' appearances in 1998.
By the way, Ukrainian Falcons is the World's latest jet formation aerobatic team to be formed.
