About the Owners

Our experience with, and for animals extends from our combined childhood years, owning such pets as dogs, cats, fish, parrots, hampsters--I've even owned chickens and pigeons! Once, I recall giving my dad a pet tarantula for his birthday--which he never did seem to warm up to! (I figured that he could expand his horizons). My employment at Denker's Veterinary Hospital in Salt Lake City for 3 years increased my interest in animals before attending Utah State University via a pre-veterinary scholarship. Although my education and degree eventially changed course into a history degree, (with an english minor), my interest in animals has not changed.

Tiffanie's focus on pets peaked as a teenager when her 4-H horse-riding club won the state championship. Also, she has recently worked as the SLC Boxer Club's VP and has strong experience "showing" boxers. We are cat lovers too. As winter approached last year Tiffanie engineered and constructed an elaborate cardboard structure for our four outdoor cats and has a certain affinity for them, but horses are still her forte'. She just purchased a retired rodeo horse named Opi, and she hugs him every night before going to bed.

Opening November 11, 2000, our small family business The Vacationer's Home and Pet Watch has continued to expand and develop. We enjoy the funny pet-sitting anicdotes which the service seems to inspire. The close association with our client's pets allows us to compare our own pets with our extended pet family. With the similarities and differences we sometimes wish that our own dogs (boxers) would behave better. We have a good time walking our dogs and cuddling our cats and we value the trust which our clients place in us.
