How to use the eInTown online mall:

Every page in the eInTown site has a navigation bar at the very top, like the one you see above. You can return to the main page at any time using the "Main Page" link. Or you can view our complete merchant list, frequently asked questions, or help for new shoppers by selecting the appropriate link. Below these links is a note on "Your Location", telling you exactly which area and page of the site you are currently visiting.

There are 2 types of links on the left column of all pages in the eInTown site. First is a list of merchants which offer products in a specific catagory. For example, the page of clothing/accessories has a list of merchants, with links, who offer clothing and accessories products. The second list of links on the left, are pages for other product catagories and merchants.

There are also links in the right column for individual products. These links open to a specific page on a merchant website offering the featured product.

What happens when I click a merchant link or a product?

When you click one of these links, a new browser window will open and load the merchant website for you to view and shop. When you are finished with your shopping and any purchases, you simply close the browser window.

Why do merchants have "membership"? What does it cost?

Merchants maintain membership lists to help their shoppers. Membership is free. Membership lists store information like your current order, shipping information, etc. This makes it easier for you to check on your order, and easier the next time you shop for products because simple information is stored so you won't have to fill out forms again.

What is a "shopping cart"?

The shopping cart on a merchant website works just like using a shopping cart at any walk-in store. As you find items you want, you place them in the shopping cart to carry them for check-out later. You add items to your cart by clicking the "add to shopping cart" button beside the product. Don't be afraid to use the shopping cart, you can always remove items from your cart and put them back. When you decide to checkout, you will be given a list of products in your cart and an opportunity to delete any item you no longer want.

What is a "wish list"?

Many merchants offer you a wish list for keeping up with products you might want to purchase at a later date. Putting an item on your wish list does not obligate you to purchase the item at a later date. Its alot like keeping a list in your desk drawer or on the refrigerator, except, the merchant helps you by keeping up with the list and where the products are located on the website. You can change wish lists or delete them anytime you like.

How do I check-out and complete my order?

When you have finished selecting products for purchase, you click the "checkout" or "proceed to checkout" link or button. You will be given a list of everything in your shopping cart and given an opportunity to make any changes to your order. You will be asked to fill out a form with your name, shipping address, etc., preferred shipping method, and payment information. After you have completed the transaction, you will be shown a page confirming your order and expected delivery date. You can print this page by clicking the "print" button on the toolbar at the top of the page. (Some merchants send this confirmation to your email address.)

Is it safe? Will my credit card number be stolen? Is my privacy protected?

Our merchants are concerned about providing you with secure online shopping. You probably recognized many of our merchants by name. We do our best to select merchants that secure your ordering information and personal information, as well as protect you from online "spam". If you have concerns about ordering from a particular merchant, please check the FAQ's section or other security information on their individual merchant website.

Credit card transactions for online shopping are handled electronically. Actually, no one even handles your card like they do at a walk-in store or restaurant. Your credit card number is stored in a secure database until your order is processed, payment is complete and you receive shipment. These secure databases are strictly controlled and employees do not have random access to gain credit card numbers. Again, read the FAQ section or security information on a merchant's website if you have a specific concern.

eInTown does not have access to credit card or other payment information given to merchants. We do protect your privacy by keeping our mailing and newsletter lists strictly private. We do not share this information with any others, nor do we sell or exchange this information.
