Excel Karate League
The EKL was designed to help develop a professional direction in sport karate within our region, and to unite the different promoters and competitors together for fair and efficient competition. EKL tournaments are open to all competitors of sport karate. All EKL tournaments carry a rating so that a competitor can accumulate oints to seed him/her into the end-of-season finals, the EKL NATIONALS. The EKL tournament season runs from September to June, with the finals in July. EKL members who compete and place in the top 8 at any EKL-rated tournament receive points toward their rating. A competitor can earn points in as many divisions as he/she qualifies for. The EKL will track its members points for them and publish them in Compete Illustrated. (Note: You MUST be a egistered member of the League to have your ratings published in Compete Illustrated. HOWEVER, YOU MAY STILL COMPETE AT ALL EKL TOURNAMENTS, EVEN THE EKL NATIONALS, WHETHER YOU'RE A MEMBER OR NOT.)

The first place winners and grand champions at the EKL Nationals will receive a title and thier picture published in Compete Illustrated. Compete Illustrated is the magazine that documents the EKL. The League, the magazine, none of it would be possible without your support through membership! Please call us if you have any questions (801-294-0276).
