Thought for the week:

A hard-on doesn't count as personal growth!

written for my friend Paul:

I have to get off the wire

I'm half drunk and tired

I think I've had enough

It's tough these days you know

Still, thanks for listening

To all my insecurities

All my memories

Really now I have to go

You were the best

Can I bum a cigarette

Nice to have a friend

To defend our feelings for

Still, thanks for understanding

I'm not as strong as that

I don't know where I'm at

Seems just fine here on the floor

But simple things carry on

When all the wind is blown away

We can leave behind

Everything that gets in our way

Would you be there for me

When I break down and cry

Would you care for me

When all my hopes and dreams have died

You know I'd do the same for you

We can win and lose again

But in the end we'll come through

We can look back in the end

You fought your own war

Endured the pain and then some more

You think you've had enough

This stuff is getting old to fast

Look, don't separate your hands

Tomorrow sends another sun

You're not the only one

That can't forget about the past

But simple things carry on

When all the wind is blown away

We can leave behind

Everything that gets in our way

Would you be there for me

When I break down and cry

Would you care for me

When all my hopes and dreams have died

You know I'd do the same for you

We can win and lose again

But in the end we'll come through

We can dream in the end....
