Prayer partners foundation international PART I: BACKGROUND 1. What is the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI? Why was it established? The El Shaddai DWXI Prayer Partners Foundation International is a Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization duly registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission. It was organized in 1984, primarily, as an institution where I could channel my tithes and donations derived from my real estate business and other companies to support the religious activities of various Catholic charismatic renewal communities and some projects of charitable organizations. |

Eventually, it has been used by God to help the Catholic Church in the spreading of His Word—the Good News of Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Living God and Savior—based on a layman's understanding and experiences. (See Turning Point...) |

Sometime in February 1978, at the age of 38, I was confined at the Philippine Heart Center Hospital due to a heart ailment. One evening, a nurse, whom I believe to be an angel, brought to my room the Word of God written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that miraculously healed and converted my heart, from being a fisher of dollars and pesos to a fisher of men for the Lord Jesus Christ. In August of 1983, I started to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ that healed and converted my heart, in a weekly Gospel broadcast over DWXI (1314 kHz) AM, a small radio station in Metro Manila, Philippines, which I own. After a few months of sharing the Gospel in my Gospel broadcasts, miracle cures and conversions were being reported by my listeners, and people from all walks of life started to troop to my office for prayer and counseling. Encouraged by the turn of events, I decided to formally organize the El Shaddai DWXI Prayer Partners Foundation International on August 20, 1984 to support the DWXI Radio Station, which I finally devoted to Gospel broadcasts. In addition to this, I launched a weekly Mass and healing crusade centered on the Eucharist and the preaching of the Gospel, which attracted thousands upon thousands weekly, mostly listeners to my DWXI Gospel broadcasts. Today, in Manila alone, the weekly attendance has reached to a half a million, more or less. (See Turning Point...) 3. What does the word “El Shaddai” mean? El Shaddai is a combination of two Hebrew words: “El” which means God, and “Shaddai” which means Almighty; thus El Shaddai is translated as “God Almighty” (Genesis 17:1;35:11, NIV). It is one of the seven Covenant Names through which God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, revealed Himself to the Israelites, His Chosen people. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the All-Powerful and Ever-Living God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is “The God Who is More Than Enough.” He is the Source and Provider of all our needs, and with Him, all things are possible. (See Etymology of El Shaddai...) 4. What are the vision and mission of the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI? Our vision is to bring about a revival of the true Christian spirit in our Catholic faith, particularly among the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI members and followers, and to raise up a true Christian family and a community of Spirit-filled, generous, loving, victorious, joyful, and united believers of God who care and share each other's burdens and blessings for the glory of God, our Heavenly Father, El Shaddai as described in Acts 2:42-47. On the otherhand, our mission is to share the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Joy of our Salvation, and our faith in Him through our own personal testimonies of the power of His Word such as our conversion through repentance and deliverance from the bondage of sin and vices; the transformation from our old self-centered, destructive and confused lives to new victorious lives in Christ Jesus; and the healing of our broken relationships and physical ailments. We want to let the people know that God is alive, that He loves and cares for us and that He is willing to forgive us, heal our diseases, and deliver us from all our troubles if we repent of our sins, turn away from our wicked ways, and establish a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ Who shall set our hearts on fire with the love of God and neighbor. 5. What plan of action does the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI undertake to pursue its vision and mission? To pursue our vision and mission, we conduct fellowships and programs which are focused on the inspired proclamation of the Living Word of God and the life-testimonies of people whose lives have been touched by El Shaddai. We also utilize the modern tri-media technologies: television, radio and print. In addition, community chapters nationwide and international chapters abroad hold weekly prayer-meetings as a result of the enthusiasm of the prayer-partners to share with others the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI's Spirit of Faith, Love, and Unity! 6. What is your religious affiliation? Where are you leading those people who have joined your community? By religious affinity, I am a Catholic. Very clearly, I intend to stay a Catholic, or should I say, I am led and inspired to remain a light to the Catholic faith, as I am called to be. I do not pretend to know anything about my religion, for indeed I know nothing about it, except that through it, in Baptism, the Light of Christ Jesus has been handed down to me. I may be the Servant-Leader of this Ministry, but I am not the one who leads these people; it is the Lord Who leads us. He is our True Shepherd and I am only one of His flock. Our calling is not to establish another religion but to help the Holy Roman Catholic Church evangelize the un-churched people, to spread the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI's “FLU”—Faith, Love and Unity—among the faithful, and to lead those separated brethren, who have joined us, back to the fold of the Church. 7. What is the proof of the calling of the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI? It is written in the Holy Bible that wherever and whenever the Lord Jesus Christ is being preached by those Whom He called, “the Lord work[s] with them and prove[s] that their preaching [is] true by the miracles that [are] performed” (Mark 16:20). Indeed, during our healing rallies and fellowships, people from all walks of life give their testimonies on how the Word of God touched their lives and worked miracles of healing and deliverance through their continuous listening to the Gospel broadcasts at the DWXI (1314 kHz) AM radio and by faithful attendance of our fellowships. The lame and the paralytic share how they stood up and walked; cancer patients and those afflicted with dreaded diseases recount their healing; drug addicts, lesbians and gays narrate their experience of transformation that motivated their return to normal lives; victims of broken homes tell how their relationships were restored; and non-Catholics relate their religious conversion to this Catholic community. I, myself, am a living proof of this. When I was scheduled for an open heart surgery at the Philippine Heart Center of Asia in 1978, God miraculously healed my ailment through His Living Word which I received in my hospital room through a nurse. Thus, the scheduled surgery was no longer necessary. This experience made me realize that God truly heals and saves those who put their trust in Him through His Word. And that Word of God is the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1-2,14) Whom I preach before the millions of members and followers of the Foundation worldwide. This great spiritual movement, El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI, is not the result of our own human efforts, wisdom, and holiness, but the work of the Almighty God Who is always with us. It is written, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). As St. Paul has testified, “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). |
