It is with joy that I greet the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI on its perseverance to spread the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to all our faithful, the truth that liberates man’s spirit, the charity that earns riches in heaven, and the hope that serves as the bottom line of our journey here on earth towards the Kingdom of heaven. The Second Provincial Council of Manila aims to highlight the role of the lay faithful of the Church. It is now your hour to work in the vineyard of the Lord Jesus Christ. But then, look at how you have already worked for the past years.

Your members and followers have done their best in proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and in sharing His love to others. Your perseverance and love for praising God and  praying  together ought to be  imitated.

Your “Back-to-the-Parish” program has helped the Church a lot in bringing the “lost ones” back to the fold to the fold of the Church and in reminding the  people the importance of the Eucharistic celebration. I thank you all for these contributions.

So, let us live up to the values taught by the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, in order to give praise and honor to God.  It is my constant prayer that you will always be faithful to Jesus and to Him alone, and that you become active and faithful collaborators in fulfilling the mission of the Church which is inspiring all the faithful into longing for holiness. Brother Mike has worked a lot to make people love Jesus Christ. I think, his reward will be tremendous before God. Brother Mike, I pray for you and ask God to bless you continuously so that you will persevere in your chosen vocation, that is, preaching Christ wherever you go. God bless you all!

Since 1989, I have been giving my support to the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI to guide and instruct them on the teachings of the Catholic faith so that its members and followers will continue to be faithful to God and the Church.

I fully believe that Bro. Mike has been gifted by God with charisma for the renewal of the Church. The number of people attending its prayer-meetings is rapidly increasing because Bro. Mike does his sharing in a simple yet effective way that touches the hearts of the masses. The people receive him favorably, and this is really a blessing from God for Bro. Mike himself admits that he has not studied theology. He is God's instrument and a servant to all.

When I presented him to my fellow bishop during the CBCP meeting in Tagaytay City last January 1993, I was pleased because he knew how to adapt his approach to his audience. He conducted himself with humility in front of the bishops, and this helped a great deal. It is my wish that the hearts and minds of more priests and of my fellow bishop be opened to this work of the Almighty God.
