Before, I was addicted to prohibited drugs and was into heavy smoking, drinking, and gambling. At the same time, I was also into womanizing. On top of these, I was short-tempered and rude. One night, while I was under the influence of alcohol, a friend invited me to a Mass and Healing Rally of the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI so he could introduce me to his girlfriend. Upon reaching the venue of the rally, I heard Bro. Mike preaching the Word of God. He also said that he was handsome, so I went near the stage to see if it was true. Before I knew it, I was intently listening to his healing message on vices that destroy our body. I heard the Word of God which stated: "Don't you know that you yourselves are the Temple of God and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple" (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). 

I realized then that I had been living a sinful life. I cried and felt as if cold water was poured over me. Upon reaching home later, I continued to meditate on the Good News that I heard. I was deeply touched by the message and realized that this was the only way I could live life in all its fullness. I repented of all my sins, asked for God's forgiveness, and made a covenant with Him to live according to His will. Since then, by the grace of God, I have been set free from vices and have received peace of heart and mind as well. Hallelujah!

I used to be an acolyte, but I later fell in with bad company. I became arrogant, dishonest, and boastful. I began drinking, gambling, and philandering. In 1987, I became a full-fledged policeman, yet I continued fooling around with women. Each one of them had her own schedule in visiting me at the police station. When I was involved in a shoot-out, I was discharged from the service. I later became addicted to prohibited drugs. I would take my jungle bolo and challenged anyone to a fight. So, my friends and neighbors kept away from me. I would even destroy our home appliances whenever I got drunk or was under the influence of drugs. Naturally, my family got angry with me.

One evening, I happened to see Bro. Mike on TV expounding on the Word of God. His healing message about forgiveness touched my heart. I broke into tears when I heard him say, "If you bear any grudge against your loved ones, go to them and reconcile with them!" I humbled myself before God, repented of all my sins, asked for His forgiveness and forgave my family, including my enemies. On October 26, 1996, I attended a prayer-meeting of the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI, where I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in my heart. Since then, I have been attending our fellowships regularly. I am now free from my vices and evil ways. I have finally regained the love and trust of my parents, brothers, and friends. In my second year in high school, I started hanging around with some friends. I learned to drink and womanize, aside from being addicted to prohibited drugs. Soon enough, the school expelled me. I came to Manila and worked in a garment factory, where I stole company items to support my vices. After four years, the management discovered my activities. They terminated me from my job and charged me with theft in court. After that, I worked in a drug company, where I pilfered drugs for myself and my friends. The company learned about this and I was terminated from my job. They filed criminal charges against me. I eventually became a drug pusher. To be able to buy drugs, I sold my blood and even had relationships with homosexuals who would give me money. My health began to deteriorate as a result of my excessive intake of drugs and alcohol.

One time, my friend convinced me to attend a Life-in-the-Spirit Seminar organized by a Catholic Charismatic group. While I listened to the speakers, I was touched by the Word of God. I realized that I am a sinner. At that very moment, tears rolled down from my cheeks as I repented of all my sins and received in my heart Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I then felt the gentle touch of the Holy Spirit. This experience gave me a new hope and strength to give up all my vices and the bad company I was in, and start a new life. I resumed my studies and graduated as a school teacher. Later, I decided to serve God through the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI by preaching the Good News to the world. Glory to God!

El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI Elder-Disciple

I used to spend all my time and money on cigarettes, liquor, gambling, and women. One evening, my wife and parents-in-law invited me to an El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI prayer-meeting. When I heard the Good News of Salvation, I realized that my sinful life would lead me to eternal damnation and that only God could help me. I immediately surrendered my sinful ways to Him and accepted in my heart Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I started reading the Bible and living a new life in the goodness of El Shaddai. I also praise and thank God, because my fellow workers, who used to laugh and tease me every time I listened to the audio tapes of Bro. Mike's healing messages or read copies of Bagong Liwanag magazine, have joined me in worshipping our Lord Jesus Christ through the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI. Hallelujah!
