Show Local Businesses that VA Employees Have Buying Power As employees we make an impact on the local economy, on August 29th the VAEA will be distributing electronic dollars when you make a purchase give one of them to the store owner and have them post it where it can be seen. With all the dollars spent in the local area residents will quickly get the picture of how important the loss of 800 jobs will be. For a closer look at the Veterans Dollar Bill click here. On October 20th the Cares Commission will hold a hearing at the Canandaigua VA, the leadership in opposition to the closing of the Canandaigua VA has called for a massive show of support for the veterans in our care. Senator Clinton has echoed that call to arms as has Charles Schumer. We need to show the VISN, the Department of Veterans Affairs thatwe will not go quietly into the night. In honor of the veterans that have served our nation the City of Canandaigua under the leadership of it Mayor has declared October 20th The Save the Canandaigua VA Day. The hearing is scheduled for the 20th of October at the Canandaigua VA, Bldg. 5 and Courtyard 1 starting at 10 a.m.
