Mostly Monuments/Memorials in Washington, D.C.

This is one of my favorite pictures that I took during the D.C. trip. This is the Capitol Building and the reflecting pool in front of it.

This picture of the Capitol was taken from across the Grassy Mall (which isn't a shopping center!)

We visited the Lincoln Memorial at night. It was really beautiful, but the dark made photography difficult. It looked just like the one on the back of the penny, only bigger.

Here is another picture of the Lincoln Memorial. Incidentally, when we arrived at the monument, there was a film crew filming an episode of "West Wing". Look for us in an upcoming episode!

We didn't get to go up into the Washington Monument because they are currently renovating it. They had a really neat lighted scaffolding around it, so it was still an interesting site to see.

The monument truly lights up the night in DC.
