The day we visited Arlington was a picture perfect fall day. In fact, the weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time we were in Washington. The fall trees provided a colorful backdrop to this place of remembrance.


The changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown solider is a ceremony that visitors to D.C. would not want to miss. I was impressed by the precision of the guards.


The sign said not to throw money into the reflecting pool, but a visiting youngster did it anyway. The ripple effect made an interesting photo


The Eternal Flame at the Kennedy grave site was a popular attraction for visitors.


A simple cross marks Robert Kennedy's grave.


The challenger memorial is a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Challenger disaster, including a school teacher.


The view from the Arlington House was breathtaking. It was interesting to view the hustle and bustle of the city from the peaceful, hilltop behind the Arlington House.
