ALTER EGO: BRUCE WAYNE

As a boy multimillionare businessman, Bruce Wayne, witnessed his parents death duing a robbery. As a result, he dedicated his adult life to fighting crime as a tribute to his parents. He decided that in order for him to be effective as a crime fighter, criminals would have to be afraid of the sight of him. After seeing a flock of bats, which startled and frightened him, he decided that a bat would be the perfect costume. Batman was born.
At first, Batman fought crime on his own. The only person to know his true identity was his trusted butler and loyal friend, Alfred. But eventually Batman received help from a few of his friends: Robin, Batgirl and Nightwing being the most notable.
ALTER EGO: TERRY McGINNIS
Terry McGinnis was your typical high school student who had a knack for getting into trouble. On one fateful evening, Terry got into a disagreement with the Jokerz gang. They got into a chase which ended when Terry wrecked his motorcycle on the propery of Bruce Wayne. Luckily for Terry, the elderly Bruce just happened to be nearby and quickly jumped in to help Terry take on the Jokerz in the ensuing fight. Bruce and Terry won, of course, but Bruce was really not up to the fight and needed his medication immediately. (I'm assuming that he has some type of heart condition from what I've seen on the Batman Beyond series so far.) Terry helped Bruce up to the house. When Bruce fell asleep, Terry accidentally wandered into the Bat Cave and realized that Bruce Wayne used to be Batman.
As seems to happen to all good crime fighters, Terry's father was murdered at the hands of Derek Powers, a powerful and evil business man who had launched a successful hostile take over of Wayne Enterprises. Terry seeks the help of Bruce Wayne to find out who is behind his father's murder. When Wayne declines to help him, Terry steals the latest model of the Batman suit and sets out to find the culprit himself. Eventually, Bruce Wayne asks Terry to be his assistant and Batman is reborn.
