BAKED APPLES

Recipe from Vicki Lansky's
MICROWAVE COOKING for Kids

1 large apple*
1 Tablespoon of frozen apple-juice concentrate
cinnamon stick
1 sharp knife*
1 apple corer
1 microwave-safe cereal bowl or custard cup
oven mitts
measuring spoons

HERE IS WHAT YOU DO.

Step 1

Level apple by slicing off a very small section horizontally across the bottom. Then slice horizontally across the top to make a cut-off cap. Set it aside and core the main part of the apple.

Step 2

Place the apple in the dish and spoon the apple juice concentrate into the apple's center.

Step 3

Place the "cap" on the apple and secure it down the middle with a cinnamon stick. Microwave on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes (4 apples, place in a circle, will take 5 minutes.)

Step 4

Remove using an oven mitt, and let stand for at least 1 more minute before serving.

This is a great quick treat for fall time.
