| Johnny Thunder and Professor Kilroy are using a balloon to
reach the
peaks of the Himalayas. But that is a very cold endeavour and they have
to wear their specially made warm flying suits. But they are wearing
the
usual brown bush hat and white pith helmet! This set also includes
Johnny
Thunder Orient Expedition game cards.
Appearance
Besides the relatively small balloon in relation to the basket this
looks ok. The propellor on the balloon is absolutely nonsence! You
cannot
propel and steer a round object, it will simply begin to rotate. I
think
that the minifigs is nice though. This sets seems a bit pricy and I
will
probably one get one of these.
Construction
This balloon is using the same principles as the balloon in 5988
but the heater looks simpler to me. The basket seems bigger and more
airy
as it uses four 1 x 4 x 2 Spindled Fence in Tan as rail. I wonder what
is used to keep the crane from being in the fully extended position all
the time.
Playability
Other than flying around you can use the crane to hoist supplies to
remote locations in the mountains with this balloon.
