Jurassic Park III
Creator
The Dinosaurs are now available from Lego Shop@Home and first sets in the Dinosaurs series has just been released in Denmark too. There are four adult and four young prehistoric creatures (in all six dinosaurs and two other prehistoric reptiles). The adult and young animals are somewhat different. There are at least 14 new elements and some existing elements comes in new colors. Half of the animals are sand green and the other half are dust blue.

Some of the new elements are attached by a technic pin system. This of course work very well. But others are attached by a simple peg. This is not quite as good. One example is that the head on my Baby Iguanodon keeps falling off because the peg is already too loose! I wonder why they didn't use the well known wheel holder system just modified to have friction.

Adult Dinosaurs
These are mainly made from specialized elements around the same body. The bodies are actually made from six (three times two identical) elements. There are only two ordinary bricks in each set. From each sets three other animals can be made by using the extra elements that comes with the sets. The challenge must be to make dinosaur bodies from ordinary bricks to use the extra heads, tails, limbs and fins. The bodies, legs and the large heads are decorated. These animals have a fair degree of articulation. This makes these Dinosaurs more realistic than those from the Dino Island subtheme. They come in Slizer/Throwbot/Bionicle style cans where the lid doubles as a display stand.

Young Dinosaurs
These are made from a combination of ordinary bricks and specialized elements. The ordinary bricks are used for the bodies. The heads and tails are made from the specialized elements. This makes them look a bit awkward. None of these dinosaurs are decorated. The challenge with these sets is to make more realistic dinosaurs by combining the sets. They come in the usual promotion size boxes but with an unusual feature: they don't have any set numbers outside! And as usual there are four in all. The back of the packages show how to combine the sets two and two to make "monstersaurs".
