Tyrannosaurus

Pronunciation: ti ran' o saw' rus
Translation: Tyrant Reptile (Also T-Rex) or Tyrant Lizard King
Period: Late Cretaceous at the end of the Mesozoic Era
Height: 15-20ft
Length: 40-50ft
Weight: 5-7 tons

The Tyrannosaurus Rex walked on two powerful legs with claws. They had short two-fingered arms, and 4-foot long jaws with 60 bone-crunching teeth, that could be up to 9 inches long. Their slim, pointed tail provided balance and quick turning while running. Although it is not the biggest meat-eating dinosaur ever discoverd, it certainly is one of the largest terrestrial carnivores of all time. The only other may be the Giganotosaurus.

As with most Dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus was hatched from an egg. The Tyrannosaurus's skin was bumpy, like an alligator's skin.

The T-rex was a relatively smart dinosaur. Its brain was larger than most other dinosaurs, even though it was smaller compared to his body mass.

T-rex was a Theropod dinosaur from the late-Cretaceous Period at the end of the Mesozoic Era. The T-rex went extinct during the K-T mass extinction.
