Welcome to my Rurouni Kenshin fanpage! Rurouni Kenshin (translation: Wandered Kenshin) is my favourite anime. It follows the life of Himura Kenshin as he tries to live a peaceful life repenting all of his sins. You see, Kenshin is not exactly a normal man. He used to be the Hitokiri Battousai, or manslayer, during the former era along with his sword style Hiten-Mitsurugi-Ryu. Now with this sakaba (reverse-bladed) sword, he has vowed never to kill another human body and to protect those that can't protect themself.

	Name : Kenshin Himura Age : 28 Weapon : Sakaba-tou Technique : Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu Description : He used to be an assassin for the Ishin Shishi but due to an unfortunate accident resulting to the death of his Wife (Tomoe), he swore never to kill again and started wandering. He shows up in the series in an alley walking by confronted by a high-spirited young woman in the name of Kamiya Kaoru.
	Name : Kaoru Kamiya Age : 17 Weapon : Training Sword Technique : Kamiya Kasshin Ryu Description : Looks older than she really is. She's a very spirited young woman who doesn't like people complaning about how her cooking tastes like. She is the inheritor of the Kamiya Kastushin Ryu which her father founded. She now takes care of the Kamiya Dojo with her very own family; Kenshin and the rest of the gang. She's very skilled with a sword and can take on any average to a skilled swordsman if she has to.
	Name : Sanosuke Sagara Age : 19 Weapon : Zanbatou / Fists Technique : Futae no Kiwami / Street Fighting Description : One of the two remaining members of the Seki-hotai. He carries around a big sword (Zanbatou) with the Kanji symbol "AKU" behind his shirt. He challenges Kenshin and breaks his sword. He then becomes a good Kamiya-dojo people person but often, if not always, contributes absolutely nothing. He has a HUGE tab at the Akabeko which seems like he has no plans of paying.
	Name : Yahiko Myoujin Age : 10 Weapon : Training Sword Technique : Kamiya Kasshin Ryu Description : He was working for a group of local yakuza before he ran into Kenshin. Kenshin wanted to free him and so he did. He looks up to Kenshin and idolizes him. Being an orphan, he becomes a live-in student of the Kamiya Dojo. He may seem reluctant at learning the Kamiya Katsushin Ryu at first but he becomes a very dedicated student, trying to be like Kenshin someday. He has a tendency to be a brat at times

My favourite character of all would have to be Yahiko. Even though he's a child, he's got courage and a whole lot of spunk!

	Name : Megumi Takani Description : This young doctor runs into Kenshin and Sano in a gambling house one day, after she has run away from Kanryu. Knowing the secret to making more effective opium, she's forced to work for him. Later Kanryu threatens to hurt everyone at the Kamiya Dojo so she goes back and tries to kill him. The attempt is unsuccessful and she's imprisoned in a tower. The Kenshin-gumi come, and after fighting Aoshi and four Oniwabanshu (and Kanryu), they finally manage to rescue her. Given a new life, she's now Doctor Genzai's assistant.
	Name : Tae Sekihara Description : Ordinary waitress? Of course not! Tae is actually the daughter of the owner of the Akabeko. She loves pictures drawn by Tsunan (Sano's artist friend). She's also a good friend of Kaoru. Once trying to cheer her up, she even offers Kaoru her beloved Tsunan's pictures. Tae always gives free meals to Sano. She is very very generous to all of her customers.
	Name : Tsubame Sanjo Description : She's usually shy and soft-spoken. She works as a waitress at the Akabeko. She seems to be very timid and afraid of everything, but she is far from 'lack of courage'. She comes to the Akabeko at night once, trying to stop the robbers. Luckily, Yahiko manage to stop them first. And she goes to the Rakuninmura alone and begs Kenshin to help Yahiko. She's sensitive and compassionate. She's an innocent young girl who doesn't know the world too well.
	Name : Hiko Seijuro Description : The thirteenth generation of Master of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu, with the unmatchable sword talent, Hiko Seijuro. He's the one who teaches Kenshin how to use a sword. And yes, he's all what Kenshin said him to be. He's a true genius when it comes to using the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. He considers him really good-looking. He always calls Kenshin his 'baka deshi' which means 'stupid pupil'.
	Name : Saitoh Hajime Description : Saitoh Hajime, the Wolf of Mibu, was the leader of the third unit of the Shinsen-gumi during the revolution. He is now known as Fujita Goro of the police force. He's a man with a short principle; 'Aku. Soku. Zan', translated as 'kill evil instantly'. And that's exactly what he does. He first appears so evil (that I was convinced he was really evil), hurting Sano badly, and trying to kill Kenshin. Saitoh uses a sword technique called Gotatsu, designed to finish the enemy off in one single attack. Simple as it may seem, very few people manage to survive it, taking into account that Saitoh is very skilled at it.
	Name : Aoshi Shinomori Description : The leader of the Oniwabanshu, appointed the position when he was only thirteen. He wants to show the world how strong the Oniwabanshu really is. And to achieve that, he joins Kanryu and waits for the legendary Battousai to appear, thinking if he could kill him, the Oniwabanshu would be accepted. But later, after he's defeated by Kenshin, Kanryu takes out his Gatling gun and tries to kill everyone. And the four Oniwabanshu die saving Aoshi. This really hurts him, so Kenshin challenges him another dual in the future, to give him a reason to go on living. Aoshi later appears using two swords, called Kodachi. But Kenshin manages to defeat him again, and this time manages to pull him to his senses. Aoshi at last is able to clear the thing that has clouded his mind for a long time and returns to his true self he was before he joined Kanryu. And as Kenshin says; 'These are the eyes that Okina respects, the four Oniwabanshu sacrifice their lives for, and Misao admires... the eyes of Shinomori Aoshi'.
	Name : Misao Makimachi Description : She's an energetic and playful little ninja girl. Misao is sixteen, but she seems a lot younger, probably because of her childlike appearance and her active nature. But she can take care of herself. She's good at throwing knives. Ordinary street bandits stand no chance against her. Not a normal girl, she's actually a member of the Oniwabanshu! Aoshi and the four Oniwabanshu left Misao with Okina at the Aoiya years ago, thinking it would be safer for her. But Misao never forgets them. When she is old enough, she goes off into the world to search for them. She meets Kenshin, who is on his way to Kyoto, in the woods. That time, she is trying to rob a gang of thieves to get some money to go home. But Kenshin stops her and they bring the money back to its rightful owner. After finding out that Kenshin knows something about Aoshi, she follows him and tries to get him to tell her. No matter what happens, Misao remains faithful to Aoshi. I really like that about her. It's a very memorable scene of her saying "Forget? If I could, I wouldn't be searching for him like this! What happiness is that in forgetting someone you love!".
	Name : Soujiro Seta Description : Shishio's first follower; the best of the Juppongatana; the one responsible for Okubo's assassination; a boy? Soujiro was an unhappy child, severely abused and forced to work by his cruel relatives. But this is why he seems to be smiling all the time. He discovered that if he smiled instead of cried when they beat him, they would soon get tired and stop. So, in time, he started to smile whenever something bad happened. Soujiro encountered Shishio killing policemen in the yard. Actually it was the smile that saved him from being killed himself. He hid Shishio in the barn and Shishio taught him the 'the strong shall live and the weak shall die' philosophy, gave him a sword, and encouraged him to defend for himself. Soujiro was going to return it when the family found out that he was hiding a criminal in the house and was going to kill him. Only at the age of eight, Soujiro had no other choice but to kill them first, and after that, followed Shishio. The 'shukuji' speed technique - so fast that he seems to disappear, in short distance. The sword technique 'heavenly sword'. And his lack of emotion. These make it hard even for Kenshin to beat him. Kenshin's strength makes Soujiro confused that he started to doubt if Shishio's philosophy is true. Later, after he had lost to Kenshin, he went out into the world to find out the truth for himself. Seta Soujiro is never caught. He's just a boy misled. Soujiro does what he believes in. I'm glad he's got a happy ending - a chance to start a new life.
