Boromir re-acquaints his sister-in-law with hockey.

ROHAN, Middle Earth— It was just the Dom-Land Caribou's luck to be the opponent in Eowyn's first game back from suspension. But despite the White Lady's...enthusiasm about her reinstatement, her Rohan Riders and the Caribou skated to a 1-1 tie.

After much drama, melodrama, and whinydrama on the MEHA's part, Eowyn, her legal representatives, her husband's legal representatives and a heavily armed escort won a lawsuit that effectively ended her suspension.

"I had to promise not to kill anyone on purpose," said Eowyn.

That promise was tested early and often by her brother-in-law Boromir who found it amusing to remind the Shieldmaiden of Rohan about cross-checks, clean hits, dirty hits and boarding.

"I wanted to see if she'd kill me," he said. "But she didn't." Merry, however, took exception to his teammate's antics and kicked Boromir in the shins.

"I didn't kick him that hard," said Merry. "Just a little, because she's my best Rohan friend."

"Who scored on your best friend butt on the power play," added Boromir.

Indeed, Merry was sent to the penalty box for attacking his own teammate, which is one of the few penalties found only in the MEHA.* The league created this penalty to cut down on intra-team casualties, most notably amongst the Uruk-Hai.

Eowyn, in the most perfect form of revenge, skated in on the power play and knocked the puck in over Gandalf's left shoulder.

"Just wait 'til Christmas," said Eowyn to Boromir after the game. She said the same thing to Merry, but in a friendlier tone.

The rest of the game was uneventful, violence-wise. In the unusual calm, Frodo scored shorthanded with Eomer in the box for tripping.

"Oh, yeah!" said the former ringbearer before trotting off to his normal post-game yoga.

Neither team scored in overtime and both left the arena alive and well.

Next up for the Caribou is a doubleheader against the Fighting Uruk-Hai and Moria Orcs.

*I think.
