    Goofy

Goofy is an unique character among the other Disney gangs. He is the central character surrounding Mickey Mouse. Like Donald and Pluto, he appeared initially in only small parts. So Goofy took several years to reach the top. Besides that, he is the only one of all the classics not to have a full name.
Goofy first appeared in May 1932 in a Mickey Mouse short called "Mickey's Revue". He played the part of a member of the audience, laughing at the gang on stage. Goofy was first known as Dippy Dawg, but eventually dropped that name as his personality remained unfit for that name. He usually develops his own way of succeeding. He is willing to offer help or assistance, even where he is not needed, and just creates confusion. Although his hands are sensitive and expressive, he still reflects a gentleman. He is very bashful, and yet when something very stupid has fallen between him, he tries to cover up his embarrassment by making faces and signalling to them.
