Comparator Op-Amps.

Definition. A fixed fraction of the output voltage is feed to the positive input. A reference voltage, V_REF and the signal voltage, e₁ are fed via resistors to the negative input. Show, below, is the graph of relationship between e_OUT and e₁.

For negative saturation:
V_REF + [R₂/(R₁+R₂)] x (e₁ - V_REF) > aV_s

For positive saturation:
V_REF + [R₂/(R₁+R₂)] x (e₁ - V_REF) < aV_s

The dead band, usually referred to input is:
2aV_S x (R₁ +R₂)/R₂.
