Bio for Eric Colchamiro

My love of golf began while I was in elementary school.  I participated in the Junior PGA program in West Palm Beach, Florida.  I then attended Palm Beach Gardens High School, where I played on the golf team all four years.

After graduation, I joined the U.S. Army.  I served proudly for ten years, keeping up my golf skills.  I was the number two player on the Eighth Army Golf Team in 1987 in Seoul, South Korea.  I was also the number one player on the 24th Infantry Division golf team, finishing in the top ten in the year-end All-Forces Tournament.

My love of golf, and my desire to be closer to my family, caused me to end my military career and pursue my real dream.  I went through the PGA of America's rigorous training program to become a PGA Golf Professional.

After completing my training, I taught for six years at the Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Florida, where I had a big impact in lowering the members’ handicaps.  I then taught as a Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona.  I also taught for one of America's top 100 teachers, Scott Sackett., where I was lead instructor for the Scott Sacket Resort Golf Schools, a Golf Magazine Top 25 Golf School.  My responsibilities included leading golf schools, teaching golf clinics for ladies and couples, and running junior golf camps.

I have also written numerous golf tips that were published in the Arizona Golf Magazine and Sun Golfer.  I have also qualified and competed in two State Open Championships, the South Florida Open and the Arizona Open.
